Betaine HCL / Pepsin 225 Capsules

 Thorne Betaine HCL / Pepsin provides 1 g of betaine hydrochloride and 47 mg of pepsin (from porcine source) per 2 capsules. The product is formulated for use with protein-containing meals, particularly in individuals with suspected hypochlorhydria (reduced gastric acid production). Betaine hydrochloride provides a source of hydrochloric acid; pepsin is a proteolytic enzyme that requires an acidic environment to function. The product is free from gluten, lactose, and soy. Note: This product contains pepsin derived from porcine source and is therefore not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or those following religious dietary restrictions that exclude pork. Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have a peptic ulcer, gastritis, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or take medications that reduce stomach acid (PPI, H2-blockers, antacids). Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
